Model Kits For New People
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Hobbies General on June 7th, 2010
There are many different kinds of Plastic Model Kits out there and it would seem that many of these are just not suitable for people that are just getting into the hobby. what kind of model kits are really good for the people actually new to the hobby and which are the ones they should stay away from?
The Do’s
Lego
A lot of people do not think that Lego is a model kit at all, I would disagree which is why of course it is on the list. This kind of thing really is fantastic for a first time builder and this is because instructions are both simple and end results are brilliant. Even the really expensive models that are huge are still easy to follow which is why it is top of the list.
The Middle
RC Models
Okay so driving around RC vehicles like RC Helicopter is something that is pretty easy to do but the reason this doesn’t fall in the do’s category is simple because they are very hard things to build and repair and this is the reason why they are really hard to get into. If you are looking for a bit of a laugh then these are the way forward but once they break, if you cannot repair them then that is it. The same goes for things like Scalextric Sets.
The Don’ts
Matchstick Models
These models are really good if you can get into them but very hard to set up, I mean very hard. Not only are the instructions hard to handle if you are building from a pack but they are even harder to build if you are building them yourself.
If someone is starting up the hobby then you need to make sure you get the right thing.
Model Kits Work With Video Games
Posted by SEO SERVICES in Hobbies General on May 8th, 2010
This generation of video game consoles have proven to be very successful indeed and the games that are on them are even more successful and part of this success is down to the fact that so much more budget is thrown into the making of the games than ever before, many are marketed more than the biggest of films. They are also starting to appeal to more than one audience with things such as Plastic Model Kits even coming with some of the most important games.
To use as an example it would be a wise idea to look at Halo Reach. The game itself is not out until September (the Beta is running this month) and already you can pre-order three separate editions of the game itself which is pretty crazy but it works in the same way that Halo 3 did. The first one that fans can order is the game and the game alone. The next edition will be known as the limited edition of the game and it comes with an artefact bag, security badge, Spartan II patch and elite in game armour. The last edition of the game will be known as Legendary and it comes with a huge model of Noble Spartan team along with an in-game Spartan armour unlock.
The great thing about this model is that it will reach out to people that simply collect things. On top of this I have seen things such as Mega Bloks based on video games too which is pretty cool. I have also seen a remote control Warthog (from the halo franchise) so there are already things like RC Cars starting to appear on the market.
So the next thing has surely got to be Remote Control Helicopterbased on things like pelicans from the Halo universe so look out for all kinds of models being released around video games.
